Propargyl alcohol propoxylate PT-PP is derived from acetylene. It is very effective for protecting steel and aluminium from corrosion in acidic and neutral media. It can be used as acid fracturing corrosion inhibitor in shale drilling and oil field development.

Applications

They are mainly employed as corrosion inhibitors in the following formulations:

Strongly acidic and neutral cleaners

Pickling baths

Features

PT-PP is neither corrosive nor toxic. It has toxicological and ecological advantages over other corrosion inhibitorssuch as conventional acetylenic alcohols.

PT- PP is more effective than conventional corrosion inhibitors at lower active concentrations, and its toxicology is more favourable.
