With the lightweighting of new energy products such as automobiles and batteries, aluminum alloys are finding an increasing number of applications. During processing, aluminum alloys
are highly reactive with numerous chemicals, leading to corrosion, discoloration (blackening and graying), and pitting. Phosphate esters have a natural affinity for aluminum alloys and
offer corrosion inhibition properties. They form an adsorption or conversion film on the metal surface (usually bonding with the aluminum oxide layer), effectively isolating the metal from
corrosive media (such as water, oxygen, and other ions in the processing fluid), preventing corrosion without releasing harmful ions. In addition to inhibiting corrosion, phosphate esters
are also excellent boundary lubricants and extreme pressure anti-wear agents.
Our phosphate ester product, PT-ITD, is an oil-soluble phosphate ester with excellent performance characteristics:
Excellent protection for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and magnesium;
Low foaming properties, which can reduce the need for defoamers;
Excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear properties, reducing friction and wear during processing.
This product is suitable for use in emulsified oils and semi-synthetic metalworking fluids. The dosage varies depending on the process requirements, ranging from 0.5% to 5%,
and should be adjusted accordingly.
